The Urantia Book Network ("UBN," "we," "us") operates urantiabooknetwork.com. We are an independent, reader-funded project, and we keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and the newsletter. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Email address. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide so we can send it to you.

Usage and device data. Like most sites, we collect basic analytics: pages visited, referring links, approximate location, browser and device type, and similar non-identifying information.

Content you submit to our tools. If you use our interactive research tools (such as the "Ask the Book" assistant), the questions you enter are processed to generate a response and may be logged to operate and improve the feature.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data, including IP address, for security, rate limiting, and reliability.

We use the information above only to:

• operate, secure, and improve the website and its tools,
• send the newsletter to people who asked for it,
• understand which content is useful so we can make more of it,
• prevent abuse and keep the service running.

We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand site usage in aggregate. These may set cookies or similar identifiers. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

We rely on a small set of reputable providers, each with its own privacy policy:

• Substack hosts our newsletter and stores subscriber emails.
• PostHog provides product analytics.
• Vercel hosts the website and processes requests.
• YouTube serves embedded videos; playing one may set YouTube cookies.
• AI providers process inputs to our research tools to generate responses.

When you follow a link to a third-party platform (YouTube, Substack, a social network, or our store), that platform's own privacy policy governs your activity there.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers above, strictly to operate the site, or where required by law.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You may request that we access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and we will honor valid requests under those laws.

We keep newsletter emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Analytics and server logs are retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above.

The site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here.
